Attendants Duties
It’s all very well asking your friends and family to be attendants for your day, but what do they do?
Traditionally the Best Man is responsible for:
The Stag Night
Organising the Ushers
Supervising distribution of Buttonholes and any services
Ensuring the Grooms clothes are in one piece and where they are supposed to be including hire returns
Driving the Groom to the venue
Looking after the Rings
Organising transport from the Ceremony to the Reception
Liaise with Toastmaster on Speech and cake cutting times
Making a speech and reading telegrams (don’t forget to thank the Groom for his toast to the bridesmaids)
Traditionally the Chief Bridesmaid is responsible for:
Helping the Bride dress on the Wedding Day
Organising the other Bridesmaids
Arranging the Brides Train and Veil before her entrance
Taking the Brides Bouquet during the Service
Looking after the Brides Dress after she has changed
Traditionally the Usher is there to help to the Best Man and assist Guests when needed.
Ushers should be aware of many issues including the rules on cameras and confetti use; they should also have an umbrella to hand just in case.
The rule of thumb is 1 usher per 50 guests.
